Management Team
James M. Jenkins
James M. (Jim) Jenkins was appointed the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer effective May 20, 2024 and has served as the Company’s Executive Chairman since August 30, 2023. Mr. Jenkins had previously been serving as Acting President and CEO since February 1, 2024. Mr. Jenkins previously served as Chairman of the Board from February 1, 2023 through August 2023 and as a director since 2016.  Mr. Jenkins previously served on our Board from 2012 to 2015 and was a member of our Audit and Corporate Governance Committees.  Prior to his appointment as President and CEO, Mr. Jenkins was the General Counsel and Vice President of Corporate Development for Transcat, Inc. (Nasdaq:TRNS), a provider of calibration, repair, inspection and laboratory services, where he served as Transcat’s chief risk officer and advised management and the board of directors over matters of corporate governance and securities law.  He also led Transcat’s acquisition strategy.  He joined Transcat in September 2020.  Before joining Transcat, he was a partner at Harter Secrest & Emery LLP, a regional law firm in New York State.  His practice focused on corporate governance and general corporate law matters, including initial and secondary public offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, and securities law compliance.  Mr. Jenkins joined the firm in 1989 as an associate and was elected a partner effective January 1, 1997.  He is a Chambers-rated attorney and served as the Chair of the firm’s Securities Practice Group from 2001 to 2020 and as a member of the firm’s Management Committee from January 2007 to January 2013.  From 2018 until September 2020, he served as the Partner in Charge of the firm’s New York City office.  Mr. Jenkins holds a B.A. from Virginia Military Institute and a J.D. from West Virginia University College of Law.
Roger D. Shannon
Roger D. Shannon serves as our Chief Financial Officer, a position he has held since February 1, 2023. Mr. Shannon has over 35 years of experience in finance, strategy, accounting, and FP&A.  Prior to joining Lakeland, Mr. Shannon served as CFO and Treasurer at Charah Solutions, Inc., a leading environmental remediation and sustainability company, from June 2019 to November 2022.  Prior to that role, he was CFO and SVP of Finance for Adtran, Inc. and CFO and Treasurer for Steel Technologies. Mr. Shannon is a CPA and a CFA® charter holder who received a B.S. in accounting from Auburn University and an MBA from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia.
Helena An
Helena An was appointed Chief Operating Officer on April 6, 2023. Ms. An brings over 25 years of experience in procurement and manufacturing leadership across Asia-Pacific. Previously Ms. An served as Vice President of Procurement and Manufacturing - Asia. During her tenure she has been instrumental in establishing Lakeland's first manufacturing facility in China and led the team that started up our Vietnam operation. Ms. An is experienced in manufacturing operations, raw material sourcing/supplier relationships, outsourcing partnerships across Asia and supply chain management. Ms. An is a graduate of Qingdao University of Science & Technology and holds an MBA from the University of Otago, New Zealand. Based in Huntsville, AL, she operates from Lakeland's Corporate Headquarters.
Laurel Yartz
Laurel Yartz was named Chief Human Resources Officer on August 1, 2024. Ms. Yartz brings over 30 years of experience in global Human Resources leadership, primarily in Fortune 500 and private equity companies.  Her extensive background includes senior strategic roles leading cultural and business transformation.  As CHRO, Laurel will be responsible for enhancing our people strategy and fostering a culture focused on growth, innovation, flawless execution, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.  She most recently served as the Senior Human Resources Leader for Lewis Services and has held positions of increasing responsibility with leading global companies, including CooperVision, Corning Incorporated, Thermo Fisher Scientific and American Standard Brands.  Laurel earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Human Resources Management & Strategic Management Concentrations) from California State University, Sacramento, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Rochester, William E. Simon School of Business.
Barry Phillips
Barry Phillips was appointed as Lakeland’s new Chief Revenue Officer on June 14, 2024.  He joins us with over 37 years of experience in global sales leadership, revenue growth, and strategic market development, particularly in the fire services space. He has a proven track record of transforming sales organizations and driving significant revenue growth across numerous safety-focused industries. Barry has held senior positions at leading safety products manufacturers and distributor companies, where he successfully led global B2B sales, marketing, service, and operations teams. His extensive experience in fire services organizations, private equity portfolio companies, and industry standards associations, as well as his ability to drive value through customer intimacy and core competencies, make him a valuable addition to our team.

As CRO, Barry will report directly to Jim Jenkins, CEO, and will oversee all of Lakeland’s global sales, sales operations, marketing and product management functions. He will also help lead Lakeland's growth, expansion, and M&A integration in the fire services segment.
Cameron Stokes
Cameron Stokes serves as Lakeland’s Global VP of Sales, appointed in June 2024.  He brings a wealth of experience in sales and marketing with a focus on driving multimillion-dollar revenue growth and expanding market share in industrial safety products. His strategic thinking and ability to develop high-performing sales teams have been demonstrated through his leadership roles at Ansell, most recently serving as Senior Director of North American Sales, where he drove substantial growth and executed a strategic transition from a transactional model to a premium, value-centric sales approach. Cameron's expertise in industrial product market dynamics and customer needs will be instrumental in our efforts to penetrate new markets and optimize our sales operations, including our new LineDrive relationship in North America and the revitalization of our Asia Pacific and European industrial products sales.
Daniel L. Edwards
Daniel L. Edwards moved into the Senior Vice President Global Business Development role in 2022. Prior to that, he was our Senior Vice President Sales for North America since March 2017, after serving as Vice President of U.S. Sales since March 2013. Mr. Edwards has been employed in various capacities since joining Lakeland in 2005. Prior to joining Lakeland, Mr. Edwards was a Senior Market Manager at Precision Fabrics Group, Inc from 1999 to 2005, where he previously held the role of Manufacturing Plant Superintendent. He began his career in 1990 and has more than 30 years of Sales and Manufacturing experience in Technical Textiles and within the Protective Clothing Industry.
J. Calven Swinea
J. Calven Swinea has been our Vice President of Finance since September 2020. Mr. Swinea was Global Corporate Controller of Elliott Group, a manufacturer of turbomachinery, from September 2019 to September 2020. Before consulting for various public companies from October 2015 to September 2019, he was the Vice President of Administration/Vice President of Internal Audit for Walter Energy, Inc., a metallurgical coal producer, from August 2010 to October 2015. Mr. Swinea also served in various finance positions for Avocent Corporation, Sanmina Corporation and was a senior manager at EY LLP.
